Bishop Creighton Academy

Academy Celebration

Let's Celebrate! Official opening by Sir Barry Day, Chief Executive, as Bishop Creighton Academy joins the Greenwood Dale Foundation Trust.

On Wednesday our academy was officially opened by Sir Barry Day, Chief Executive of the Greenwood Dale Foundation Trust.

We held a celebration assembly that was attended by Principals from the other Peterborough Greenwood Dale Academies and Central team. We were also joined by Gillian Beasley, Chief Executive of Peterborough City Council. A number of pupils showcased their many talents which included a reading, piano piece, dance and song. Sir Barry Day also unveiled our new plaque. The assembly was much enjoyed by pupils, staff and our visitors.

Our visitors spent the morning in our academy. They were hugely complimentary about what they saw, particularly the improvements we have made. The Year 5 & 6 pupils that led the tours were outstanding ambassadors for our academy. We are particularly proud of the exemplary behaviour our children displayed throughout the morning.

A tree was also planted to mark this significant event. We are delighted to have joined such a successful trust. This is a new chapter for our school and an exciting thing to be part of.
