What a Gym-tastic lesson!
On Wednesday 20th April Year 5 had a fantastic gymnastics lesson delivered by Miss Breen, a specialist PE teacher. Miss Breen was in school to help all the teachers become better at teaching gymnastics.
It was great to see all the children really enjoying themselves and getting involved with the learning so fully. There were lots of different activities to help develop core strength, agility and balance. No-one managed to sit still for long as there was so many different things to try such as exercises to warm us up and strengthen our stomach muscles, creating different shapes and balances with a partner and learning how to do a range of rolls in a controlled manner.
Lots of teamwork and supportive behaviour was shown by all the class and everyone encouraged their partners to achieve to the best of their ability. It was fabulous to see so many hot but happy faces at the end of the session. Special mention has to go to Samuel for such enthusiasm, commitment, engagement and a level of talent he has kept hidden. Well done Year 5!
