This year, Year 6 began their journey with Humanutopia, starting off with attended the Big Jump conference at Newark Hill! After completing a second day with the Humanutopia team at BCA to build on their previously learnt skills, 10 'heroes' were selected to participate in a heroes mentoring scheme. 

The heroes peer mentoring scheme involves a Year 6 hero peer mentor being buddied up with a younger child in the school. The heroes selected received training, delivered by Katie from Humanutopia. After receiving Heroes mentor training, Year 6 met with their Year 4 mentee to complete their first session together! As you can see by the photos, there were smiles all around! 

At some point each week, the mentor and mentee will meet each week to complete activities in their heroes booklets. The activities and tasks are designed to let the pair get to know each other and build communication and confidence skills. What a brilliant start to the programme and such positive feedback from all involved!
