Bishop Creighton Academy

A special visit from Luke Steele!

Today Luke Steele, who is a professional footballer, came to our academy and delivered an inspiring assembly all about his career.
Today Luke Steele, who is a professional footballer, came to our academy and delivered an assembly all about his career. Luke Steele is from Peterborough and went to school in Glinton with Mr Kennedy. When he was younger he played for the academy at Peterborough United before transferring to Manchester United where he played with the likes of David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Luke told us about an injury he got whilst at Man United in which he couldn’t play football for 13 months. He told us how important it is to never give up and keep trying, that’s what he did even though he had a serious back injury. Now Luke plays in goal for Panathinaikos in the Greece league equivalent to the premiership. Panathinaikos also played in the Europa league this year.

Luke shared with us that once upon a time he thought about being a PE teacher!  We would love to see Luke at our academy in the future joining in with our sport!
