Strawberry Tasting!

Year 5 Gardening club shared their produce in assembly!
In Year 5, a group of children have been working with Mr Comp to develop and practice skills whilst gardening. In the Autumn term they prepared all of the plant beds and soil, ready to plant the seeds and wait for them to grow!

This week, upon checking the fruit and vegetable patches, they were delighted to see beautiful, red strawberries had grown! The children picked and washed them before bringing them to assembly to share with the school. Some of the children tried them, they commented on how sweet the strawberries were. How amazing that we can grow our own food to eat!

What a lovely treat for a Friday afternoon, I wonder what else they can grow?
