  • Leicester Botanic Gardens

    Today (Monday 30th April 2018) Year 5 went on a trip to the Botanic Gardens in Leicester. What a wonderful experience! We learnt all about plants and animal life cycles. The Botanic Gardens aim to bring a global perspective to the curriculum, especially in environmental and development issues and they have been awarded the Learning Outside the Classroom (LoTC) quality badge and the Growing Schools awards.

  • Shaky hand testers!

    At the end of last half term, Year 5 created their own shaky hand testers. A shaky hand tester game  is a steady hand game that is well known to many as a table top amusement. It is a challenging and competitive game, where you are playing the number of touches against time. The player has to get the right balance between speed and skill in order to obtain the winning score.

    Year 5RC have been conducting experiments this half term, as part of our theme ' Mysterious materials' we  investigated solids and liquids. We predicted what might happen to the cornflour before we mixed it with water and food colouring.
