Exploring Habitats

Year 2 explored differnt habitats out in the sun this afternoon...

For our theme on Amazing Animals we are starting to look at animal habitats. We spent an exciting afternoon outside discovering and observing habitats in the school grounds. We saw a variety of animals including a grey rabbit. There were squeals of delight every time someone found an animal and insect. We explored the walled garden outside our classroom window and found ants, slugs, and evidence of the blackbird we often watch from inside. In the long grass we found a lot of ladybirds which we  enjoyed holding and looking at. It was a fun afternoon and has given us some great ideas as a starting point for information writing about habitats.
