Today we held a special Christingle assembly

This morning we were very busy decorating our Christingles. After learning what the Christingle represents, we got to work adding sweets and raisins to cocktail sticks. This was certainly a fiddly job for many of us as we didn't want the sweets to break as we put them on the stick!

During assembly we listened very carefully to Year 6 as they told the whole school all about how and why Christians celebrate Christingle. We were all very excited when Mrs Redhead asked us to stand up with our Christingles and show everyone. Little did we know that the next thing we would be doing was to hold a lit Christingle!! We all stood very still and were mesmerised by the tiny flickering flame. The whole school sang a Christimas song then we blew out our candles.
