On Monday 12th November, BCA travelled to Stanground in a year three and four 5-a-side football tournament.

For many involved it was their first competitive event for Bishop Creighton. However, all stood up and performed admirably.

In our group we faced Oakdale, William De Yaxley, Welland Academy and St Michaels. First up we faced Welland Academy, with great passing and work ethic, Bishop Creighton took an early lead through Aran, quickly followed by a second with Aran neatly finishing a good team goal. Despite this, Welland fought back and the game was back on a knife edge at 2-2. With time running out Kacper stepped up scored the winning goal. BCA off to a great start with a 3-2 win.

Next up was William De Yaxley, unfortunately the team felt the fatigue from the first game and couldn’t keep up with William De, suffering a heavy defeat. Heads dropped and Oakdale took full advantage and defeated us 4-1, Kacper and Aran scored in each game respectively.

Despite two losses, BCA picked themselves back up again against St Michael’s with Aran scoring a late goal to get back to winning ways, with a great performance from all involved in the game. Last up was Southfields, in a game where both teams took the lead, the game ended 2-2 with Aran scoring a brace. The game went to penalties, with all 8 players having to step up, with Kacper, Haseeb, Tulisa and Ismaeel scoring to win 4-3 on penalties.

Despite mixed results, performances and behaviour were exemplary, with all involved representing the school proudly.
