Planting sunflowers!

Year 1 have been learning all about animals for the past 7 weeks! The children have also been eager to find out how plants survive and whether they live like humans do! During some super outdoor learning the children worked in small groups to plant sunflowers!

Year 1 have been learning all about animals for the past 7 weeks! The children have also been eager to find out how plants survive and whether they live like humans do! During some super outdoor learning the children worked in small groups to plant sunflowers! They were amazed to see how the sunflowers start off as a tiny seed and later become a large plant. The children used the skills they had learnt in maths to predict how tall their sunflowers might grow! They were very shocked to learn that the sunflowers might grow up past the classroom window.
Over the next few weeks the children will be taking care of the sunflowers and measuring how tall they grow! Click here to take a look at our photos.
