Recreating 'The Highwayman' art
The highwayman poem was written by Alfred Noyes, the poem tells a good story with powerful imagery and a rhythmic cadence reminiscent of horses' hooves. The story tells of the highwayman's visit to see the beautiful Bess at the old inn and of the terrible fate they both meet.
In 5RC this week, we recreated some of the artwork of a famous artist called Charles Keeping. Charles Keeping was an was an artitst who used black and white to convey the landscape. In our class we also used black and white to recreate artwork.
We used charcoal to recreate images from the poem and then created a second image using 2B and HB pencils. Take a look at our beautiful artwork!
