On Friday the 22^nd of June, 21 BCA pupils travelled to Leicester to participate in the annual Greenwood Academies Primary Schoo Indoor Athletics event!

The event is hosted each year at Braunstone Leisure centre and every single primary academy – 18 in total- attend! That’s around 700 children from academies across the UK.

On the day, there were 6 field and 6 track events to compete in. The children had alrady been selected for their races/events and had been practicing at school prior to Friday to ensure we performed to the best of our ability. The field events ran through out the day and the track events took centre stage, in front of a huge cheering crowd! Everybody had a brilliant day, all of the children tried their best and represented the academy superbly!

With 18 academies in attendance, only the top 10 schools were announced!  The best we've ever placed in previous years was 12th... this year we came 10th! We were absolutely thrilled to have been called in 10th place! Lots of the other academies are much bigger than us, so to come 10th is a brilliant achievement and an improvement on previous years! Well done BCA! Great work!
