Home Readers 2020

We are pleased to inform you that we will be sending reading books and planners home from this week so children can practice their reading skills with you at home. Due to current restrictions we are going to have to run this slightly differently to how we have in the past...

Reading books: Years 2 - 6

Each child will be given one or two books on a Monday along with their BCA planner. Please hear your child read and record their progress in their planner. On Fridays, children will return these books and complete their AR quizzes. The books will then be cleaned and quarantined ready to be returned to the bookshelves on Mondays. Please do not bring books and planners into school every day. We are trying to minimise the risk of contamination in line with our Covid 19 operating procedures.

If children do not return the books on Fridays, then their books cannot be changed. Your child may also have a book to keep and read in school, but this additional book will not come home. Any books lost at home will incur a charge.

We encourage children to read other books they may have at home and you can easily check if these books are on the Accelerated Reader system at the following website:

https://www.arbookfind.co.uk/

You can also access your child’s AR account via home connect:

https://Ukhosted79.renlearn.co.uk/2233498/HomeConnect

All log in details and passwords are in your child’s planner. Any issues with these then please contact the school via email or via the Form on the school Website in the Remote Learning Offer section.
